Thank you Crater Families

As the end of my term as PTO Prez comes to a close I just want to take a moment to share my appreciation to the Crater Families, Staff and fellow volunteers. I am so lucky to have been a part of this amazing organization that was so well established and locked in it was almost "Jen" proof. Thank you to the leaders before me, my mentor April, the board members Kerri, Kelli, Coral and Katie. Everyone should stand up and applaud these ladies for their commitment and willingness to put themselves out there. I remember when I took on this role how much turmoil our school was experiencing and I remember thinking about a lighthouse in a storm just has to stay on, our ship will find its way. We did more than that Crater Families. We had the biggest fundraising success we have ever experienced, our Principal John McAndrews is putting in the work to get our kids the best experience possible to prepare them for their life long path of education. Parents are engaged and asking questions and advocating for not just their kids, but for classrooms and future classrooms! Incredible. Does that mean we can sit back? You had to know I would not let that happen. We keep pushing, growing, learning, and EARNING! We volunteer for those who can't. When you step up to help, I challenge you to double down. Someone out there can't take off work, can't leave a meeting, has no sitter, no ride. For those who are on the fence about volunteering, start small. Your challenge is to donate 1 hour a month. Either in the classroom, fundraising, baking, showing up to a meeting, making crafts with kids the possibilities are endless. Just 1 hour a month. To those that like to lead, you are needed everywhere! Don't dim your light, stand up, shine bright. Our ships will always need to find their way. Love ya Crater! Jen
